The Digital Economy Council launched the Digital Economy Masterplan 2025 in June 2020. Through the Digital Economy Masterplan 2025, the direction and main focus are aligned with the aspiration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, for Brunei Darussalam to become a Smart Nation.
The Digital Economy Masterplan 2025 is intended to support the goals of Wawasan Brunei 2035 with the following strategic outcomes:
i. A digital and future ready society
ii. A vibrant and sustainable economy
iii. A digitally conducive ecosystem
