Application for Registration As a Teacher (at Private Education Institution)

​This service is provided by the Ministry of Education for the Registration of Applicants who have an interest to be a teacher at  Private Education Institution (Formal & Informal)

This is an offline/counter service.

General Prerequisite/ Criteria

Requirement:

  • Must be 18 years above;
  • Pass the security screening;
  • Has appropriate academic qualification to teach the level / subject assigned;
  • Minimum qualification for teacher in informal school (except tuition) are based on field and level of appropriate skills required.
  • Non local must have certificate / diploma in teaching.
  • The minimum qualification for Local :-

                                                            and Education Certificate (ECCE)

            2      Primary                            4 'O' Level

            3      Secondary                       'A' Level in Subject required / 
                                                            Relevant Subject

            4     Pre-U                                Diploma

            5     Higher Institution             At least HND / Degree / Masters
                                                            Doctor of Philosophy (Must be
                                                            one level above the level to be 
                                                            taught)

Fee

  •    $100

How to use the Service

An application letter must be submitted together with the following documents: 

  1. Two (2) sets of Application for Registration as a Teacher [Second Schedule (Form B)];  
  2. Two (2) copies of passport size photos;
  3. A copy of Brunei Identity Card (including foreigners who have an Brunei Identity Card);
  4. A copy of passport (for foreigners only); 
  5. A copy of highest qualification (for diploma and above transcript is also to be submitted);
  6. Curriculum vitae;
  7. Other relevant documents;
  8. A copy of the accreditation letter by the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council (BDNAC) if applying for a Lecturer position at the Higher Education Institute; 
  9. A copy of a Certification Letter issued by Majlis Ugama Islam Brunei (MUIB) for the teaching of Al-Quran, Arabic Language and Islamic Religious Knowledge;
  10. Two letter of commendations as required in the Application for Registration as a Teacher [Second Schedule (Form B)].
